Holiday-themed snacks are always fun to make. A few other favorite Easter desserts include swimming peeps jello cups and Cadbury creme egg brownies. If you want a quick spring dessert with minimal ingredients, these decorated pretzels are perfect.

You can make all three designs in one batch or choose a single shape and create an entire tray of bunnies, butterflies, or flowers.

Ingredients for Easter Pretzels

  • Mini pretzels (or waffle pretzels / pretzel snaps)
  • White candy melts or white chocolate melting wafers
  • Pastel Easter M&Ms

Pretzels: Mini pretzels work best for these shapes, but you can substitute waffle pretzels or pretzel snaps if preferred.

Candy melts: Bright white candy melts or white melting wafers create a clean base for the candies. Many stores carry Wilton candy melts or equivalent white chocolate wafers.

Easter M&Ms: Use the pastel Easter mix to get soft spring colors. Sorting the M&Ms by color before you begin makes assembly faster.

Bunny pretzels

how to make bunny pretzels step by step

Arrange pretzels in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Place one white candy melt on top of each pretzel. Heat in a preheated 225ºF oven for 2–3 minutes, just until the candy melt softens.

Remove the tray and quickly press one M&M near the bottom of the melted candy to form the bunny’s head. Add two M&Ms on their sides above the head to create ears. Let the pieces cool completely so the candy hardens before transferring the pretzels.

Butterfly pretzels

Place two pretzels side by side on top of one candy melt so they form the butterfly wings. Add a second candy melt where the two pretzels meet to secure them together. Heat the sheet in the 225ºF oven for 2–3 minutes until the melts soften, then remove and press two M&Ms in the center for the butterfly’s body.

Break a pretzel and use small pieces to make antennas. Allow everything to harden fully before moving the pretzels.

Flower pretzels

Place a candy melt on each pretzel and warm in the oven at 225ºF for 2–3 minutes so the melts soften. Remove from the oven and quickly press one M&M in the center of the pretzel to form the flower center. Surround it with six M&Ms to create petals—some may overlap slightly. Let the candy harden completely before handling.

Easter Pretzels

By: Beth

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Servings: about 50 pretzels

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Silicone baking mat or parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 16 oz bag mini pretzels
  • 12 oz bag bright white candy melts (or white chocolate melting wafers)
  • Two 10 oz bags Easter M&Ms (pastel mix)

Instructions

Bunny Pretzels

  1. Preheat the oven to 225ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Arrange pretzels in a single layer. Place one candy melt on top of each pretzel.
  3. Bake for 2–3 minutes to soften the candy melt, then remove the tray.
  4. Quickly press one M&M near the bottom of the melted candy for the head, and two M&Ms on their sides above it for ears.
  5. Let the candy set completely before removing the pretzels.

Butterfly Pretzels

  1. Preheat the oven to 225ºF and line a baking sheet.
  2. Place white candy melts in a single layer. Set two pretzels on top of each melt—one on the right and one on the left—to form wings.
  3. Add another candy melt where the pretzels meet to join them, then warm in the oven 2–3 minutes.
  4. Remove and press two M&Ms in the center for the body. Add two small broken pretzel pieces for antennas.
  5. Allow the melts to harden fully before handling.

Flower Pretzels

  1. Preheat the oven to 225ºF and prepare your baking sheet.
  2. Place one candy melt on each pretzel and warm for 2–3 minutes until the melts soften.
  3. Remove from the oven and press one M&M into the center of the pretzel. Arrange six M&Ms around it as petals.
  4. Let the candies harden completely before transferring.

Notes

  • Sorting the M&Ms first makes assembly faster.
  • Line the baking sheet for easier cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  • Work in small batches so the candy melts are easy to top with M&Ms before they harden.
  • Be patient and let everything set completely for the best presentation.
