I’m sharing another motivating weight loss success story. As a fellow Weight Watchers Lifetime member, I was moved by Stephanie’s journey: she lost 135 pounds using the Weight Watchers program and has kept the weight off for more than a decade.
Her before-and-after photos show a remarkable physical transformation, and her own words describe the deeper changes that come with taking control of eating habits and overall health. Her story is a powerful example of how steady effort, a realistic plan, and a supportive system can produce lasting results.
I especially appreciated when she said, “Food no longer controls my life, and my health is excellent. I can focus on other areas, and enjoy my family without obsessing over weight. I love being able to wear the same clothes because my weight is stable and maintained.” That sense of freedom — living without constant food-related anxiety — is what many of us aim for when we begin a weight loss journey.
Her advice to others is clear and practical: “Have determination, confidence, a structured plan, support system if possible and know that life-long weight loss and healthy changes are very possible without restrictive dieting.” Those principles reflect sustainable behavior changes rather than quick fixes.

Tell Us A Little Bit About Your Weight Struggle
I dealt with obesity throughout my twenties while I was working as an RN and starting a family. By age 29 I reached 275 pounds. At 30, I committed to a realistic plan with Weight Watchers and ultimately lost 135 pounds. For more than ten years I have maintained my goal weight of about 140 pounds.
What Was Your Wake-Up Call Or “A-Ha Moment” That Caused You To Really Commit Yourself To Succeeding?
My wake-up call came when I had to use an airplane lap extender. That moment made me realize how much my weight was affecting everyday experiences and motivated me to make a lasting change.
How Have Your Eating Habits Changed Since Beginning Your Journey? What Did You Eat Before And What Are You Eating Now?
The biggest change has been portion control. I learned to eat smaller portions and make healthier choices consistently. Those adjustments, combined with the Weight Watchers framework, helped me reshape my relationship with food and enjoy more balanced meals.

What Is The Difference In Your Fitness Before You Started And Now?
I now prioritize movement. I walk and use an elliptical several days each week. Regular, moderate activity became a consistent part of my routine rather than an occasional effort.
What Has Been The Biggest Change/Payoff For You So Far?
The greatest payoff is freedom: food no longer controls my life, and my health has greatly improved. I can concentrate on family, work, and other goals without constant worry about my weight. Maintaining a steady weight also means I can wear the same clothes consistently and feel confident in daily life.
How Much Weight Have You Lost? How Long Did It Take You To Lose It?
I lost a total of 135 pounds. I lost about 75 pounds in the first year and completed the rest over the following 15 months or so. Since then, I have been able to maintain my goal weight for well over a decade.

Advice and/or Words of Wisdom to Others Who Are Struggling?
My advice is straightforward: have determination and confidence, follow a structured plan, and seek a support system if possible. Sustainable, lifelong weight loss and healthier habits are achievable without extreme or restrictive dieting. Small, consistent choices add up to big, lasting change.
