  • 4 pounds cabbage 3-4 pound cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth for a vegetarian version
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup butter unsalted or vegan butter
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning or Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Âź teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Cut out the cabbage core and coarsely chop the leaves with a food processor or knife. Remove and discard the outer layer of leaves first.
